Botox Cosmetic®

Botox offers an excitingly simple method for eliminating problem wrinkles in the face with no down time.
Botox gently weakens the muscles under the skin that cause problem wrinkles in the frown line, the forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet). The procedure itself takes only minutes and the results are seen in a few days.

Ideal Candidates for Botox Cosmetic®

Men and women in their late 20s and older who have wrinkles on the forehead, brow, or around the eyes. The wrinkles can be present at rest or while smiling or frowning. For younger individuals, early treatment of wrinkles may prevent the formation of deeper, permanent wrinkles. For older individuals Botox alone can improve the appearance of wrinkles, and in combination with certain soft tissue fillers, like Restylane®, the wrinkles can disappear.

Botox for Jaw Contouring

Many women, particularly those of Asian descent, can have wide jaws which can leave an overly square or wide appearance to the lower half of the face. This wideness can be due to either a large lower jaw bone (mandible) or enlargement of the masseter muscle on the outside of the jaw. In many cases, Dr. Miranda is able to gently narrow the lower portion of the face by using Botox. Dr. Miranda uses the Botox® to narrow the overly large (hypertrophied) masseter muscles—resulting in a more pleasing, beautiful facial contour.

In the cases where the wideness is due to the lower jaw bone, Dr. Miranda is skilled in Jaw Reduction Surgery.

Botox for Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating in the underarms, on the palms, in the face or in other areas can be treated with simple Botox® injections.
